Shatevia Simpson is a graduate student from Long Island University who is currently pursuing a degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a minor in world language in Spanish from Johnson and Wales University in 2014.
She has worked in the field of non-for-profit organizations and serving the community of autism for the last 8 years. Her experience is working with children from the ages as young as 1 to 20. She is well traveled, has experience working with many backgrounds providing the most relatable experience. She has a very likeable personality and loves to listen to her clients. She wants you to gain knowledge that will actually help you succeed and she is very practical. Shatevia is interested in working with children, adolescents, couples; families as well as geriatrics who struggle with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, grief and trauma.
Shatevia incorporates a nontraditional approach on therapy being interactive with her clients using Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness and Emotionally Focused Approach. She is currently accepting new referrals. Sliding scale is available. She is receiving supervision under Luckdjyne Neas, LCSW.
